1. Large pictures load very quickly for me because I have cable internet. However, when I use my parents' computer, it takes an eternity for pics to show up. (They have dial-up). So I feel the pain of those with dial-up connections!
2. At the risk of sounding harsh, I personally would love to see NO TICKERS WHATSOEVER. AG related or not.
3. I guess the lines of text really should depend on how much other stuff you have in your signature. If you have a big picture, probably no more than a few lines to go with it.
4. I'm more for a general guideline, and showing people good examples of reasonably sized signatures. I for one am lost when it comes to bytes and pixels and although I know there are plenty of knowledgeable people here to help with that, it's still intimidating.
In general, I am all for keeping signatures as short and sweet as possible. I think a lot of the signature pics are cute, but overall the board does seem a little cluttered to me at times. I can't say I don't miss the days when signatures were just a link to an album and a sentence or two. I feel an avatar picture and a quote in your sig is more than enough to show a bit of your personality. I would rather focus on what people say in their posts than what they say in a signature.
